SPECIAL DISCOUNT DEALS mentioned below !
Whenever possible, Roger prefers to give a bid for the shooting and editing combined. For instance, the Weddings Page and the Business Page both have package specials.
Those times that it makes more sense to separate the charges, an itemized bid can be generated for your company’s purchasing department. True View is easy to work with.
RATES FOR FILMING:

FILMING ON LOCATION: half day, up to 5 hours is $250
Full day flat rate up to 10 hours is $450
FILMING PLUS PHOTOGRAPHY: half day up to 5 hours is $300
True View as a real business entity prices competitively. Anyone charging less probably can’t afford to even carry business liability insurance.
True View LLC carries Commercial General Liability Insurance with a general aggregate limit of two million dollars.
Rates above include one HD Videocamera with tripod, wireless microphone kit and shotgun microphone. Wide angle lens also included at no extra charge. See the picture above. Photography includes Digital SLR plus tripod, flash unit, and additional lenses in Roger’s bag.
Multiple days get a substantial discount. Please realize that certain types of productions do in fact require more equipment to do a good job. True View has additional videocameras, microphones, lights, stands, digital audio recorders and other gear in the inventory. At times the additional gear means an additional charge.
If True View needs to hire additional crew, or rent additional gear, there will be surcharges spelled out in your quote (bid). The full on location fee is due the date of service, for new customers, unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
Finally, don’t be afraid to discuss your options for staying within your budget. It can be amazing what can be accomplished by good planning.
RATES FOR EDITING AND POST PRODUCTION:
Prices are comparable to the on location fees. Simple editing projects cost far less than extremely complex ones. Base rate is $50 per hour. At times, licensing fees will need to be passed on to the client. This will be discussed in advance.
Your finished production can be delivered as DVDs or file based. Files can be delivered on a hard disk, thumb drive, or FTP transfer. Videos shot in HD can be encoded to also play in HD online.
Your Powerpoint Graphics can be integrated seamlessly into your video too!
The best place to play your online videos is from your own site. Once uploaded, your YouTube or Vimeo videos can be embedded so that they play from your own web site instead of viewers leaving your domain to view them. Most times, True View can provide this service for you, or if you employ a web designer, we will provide that person the embed code so that we won’t need access to modify your site.
True View can also set up a YouTube Channel for you!
And be sure to check out the Screening Room page for an example how videos can play on a page of your own site.
RATES FOR PHOTOGRAPHY:
TRUE VIEW OFFERS LIMITED PHOTOGRAPHY SERVICES:
PHOTOSHOOTS: normally with a two hour minimum, per hour is $50
You can see some examples of True View Photography by clicking the Photo Album Widget in the sidebar. All of the photos, just like the video clips, are original works of True View.
IMAGE PROCESSING: per hour is $50, with one hour minimum. Your photos will be delivered in digital form on CD Rom or DVD Rom in both JPEG and PSD (Photoshop) format. For a library style disk with hard case and cover art, price is just $25.00
Should you want True View to do a few prints for you, just ask. Large numbers of prints will need to be outsourced.
In summary, most of our typical photoshoots combined with processing, have come out around $250 or less, for previous True View clients. This is with the finished photos delivered on disk.
LICENSING: Have you ever taken an old portrait to a photo processing lab to have a new print made, and been told they couldn’t do it for you because it was taken by a professional photographer and would violate copyright laws? We’ll take care of that by giving you documentation, called a license.
This gives you the rights you need to print, share, or distribute the images whenever and wherever you want. We’re not willing to alienate a customer in an attempt to squeeze out a little more profit for ourselves. We depend upon satisfied customers generating repeat business and referrals. So there is no charge for the license.
Terms: There is a retainer required for new clients.
Payment is due when service is performed. This means that the full shooting fee is due no later than the day of the shoot. New clients pay a $150 retainer upon booking, which is applied toward the shooting fee.
At times, even for established clients, certain expenses will need to be paid in advance. If your project requires rental of special equipment, when extensive travel or lodging is required, these will be billed in advance. This is a normal and customary industry standard practice. True View will send you an invoice with the details.
Editing is normally invoiced separately from the shooting, unless a special combo deal, like for a wedding, or a special promo for business has been purchased. Payment for editing is divided into three payments. The first, a “third” of the price, based on a good faith estimate, is due at the start.
The second payment is due upon completion of the watermarked preview proof with embedded timecode. Again, this is a standard industry practice. At this point, client will review the material, and note revisions to be performed. Because of the timecode display on the preview proof, edit changes can be made precisely.
At this point, the final price will be nailed down. Then the remaining balance is due upon completion of the final proof.
Invoicing and Payments:
True View uses PayPal for invoicing. You do not need to have a PayPal account for this to work. We will email the invoices to you, and you can make your payments securely and conveniently with your credit card, debit card, or Pay Pal account. If you prefer, you can print out the invoice and send us a check or money order. Any fees generated by Pay Pal are absorbed by True View.
