Autumn has been busy!

Autumn 2011 has been a busy time. My apologies for not updating the news for so long.

True View had a number of recent shoots in the Orlando area. The first was for the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida. The Diocese had a special convention at Trinity Preparatory School in Winter Park to elect the Fourth Bishop of Central Florida in November. True View was selected to document the convention with video. In addition, True View  produced the short video recordings of each of the seven candidates several weeks prior to the convention. These were shot in the chapel located at the Diocesan Offices, located in downtown Orlando.

For more information on the convention, visit the web site of the Diocese of Central Florida. Videos can be viewed on the You Tube Channel for the Diocese of Central Florida.

Another client, this time from out of state, hired True View to do a shoot at the Stanton Generating Station on the east side of Orlando near the University of Central Florida. Having experience dealing with OHSA, Roger was prepared with his hard hat, safety glasses, and steel toed work boots.

Behar Fingal, a marketing and design firm out of Pittsburgh, had Roger do a shoot of their client’s demonstration project at the plant. The demonstration was of advanced emission control technologies provided by Breen Energy Solutions

Spring Business Seminars

Spring is here, and with the change of seasons True View has seen a big change in bookings. Whereas the fall and winter months Roger was mostly covering sporting events, late March and April have been filled with business seminars in Orlando.

This led to a need to record long form events efficiently, so True View has added a hard drive recorder to the main camera.

This device is very similar to the DVR from your cable company. It records in High Definition and allows recording both to tape and to the internal hard drive of the device simultaneously.

Plus, the device continues recording while tapes are being changed so there is no break in the action. The tapes are just used for backup. This also adds efficiency to the post-production process. The files are easily transcoded for loading into either Avid Liquid or Avid Media Composer.

The most recent two day seminar had well over 100 GB of data for delivery. Since this would take more than twenty DVDs to hold it all, True View shipped this massive amount of footage on an external USB hard drive to the client.

Sorry, but there will be no highlights from the seminars posted on the True View web site, since the  clients’ footage is considered proprietary and confidential by us. If you have a seminar you need recorded, Roger will keep your information safe too. Non-disclosure agreements are available upon request.

The Tigers Diamond Gala

True View recently provided video coverage of the Detroit Tigers Diamond Gala, celebrating the Tigers 75th Anniversary of Spring Training in Lakeland Florida. Several hundred members of the community, along with Baseball Hall of Fame Members, players and coaches from the Tigers organization, civic leaders, philanthropists, and special guests were in attendance.

Jeanette Lee, the former #1 billiards player in the world, was the star performer. Lee, who goes by The Black Widow, put on a stunning show. It was easy to see why she’d won more than thirty national and international titles. A highlight video is on our Vimeo site. There is a link in the sidebar if you’d like to check it out.

Eventrics hosted the Diamond Gala at the beautiful Lake Mirror Center in Lakeland as a fundraiser to benefit the Boy’s and Girls Clubs of Lakeland and Mulberry, Polk Sheriff’s Charities, the Sunflower Preschool Playground, and The First Tee Lakeland.

True View feels privileged to work again with Sherrin and John of Eventrics.

True View covers the Outback Bowl Parade

True View partnered with Professional Video Imaging in covering the most recent Outback Bowl Parade this past New Year’s Eve. The parade was held in the Ybor City section of Tampa Bay. We recorded numerous interviews of members of various high school bands from around the country who won invitations to be in the parade, half time show, and other special events connected to the game.

It was a pleasure to shoot the parade from the Judge’s Balcony overlooking the parade route. We enjoyed the opportunity to video record the bands we had interviewed marching in the parade. The University of Florida Fighting Gators Band, and the Penn State Nittany Lions Band put on a fantastic performance as well. For information on ordering a DVD from PVI, click the Outback Bowl thumbnail in the sidebar.
